I think we're about the same age (I'm 44) and I have those same feeling your described.
It feels to me like the world we grew up in and were prepared for just completely vanished one day and now I'm stuck in some low budget, dystopian movie or something.

What really helps me when I get to feeling like this is I take 10 minutes and truly think about all the blessings in my life and focus only on that. Gratitude is a powerful antidote to those feelings if I can just humble myself enough to embrace it.
Things will turn our way again and you're not alone in the fight. You also don't have to do it all by yourself. There are many very intelligent and very capable people fighting along side you. None of whom are going to talk about any moves they're making before it happens.
Also take some time to rest. Get away from screens or at least news for 12 hours. In the Marines they rotate in fresh men all the time to allow others to rest. You need to care for yourself and be realistic about limits so you don't make yourself a casualty before the war even starts.
