I totally feel you fam.
I had a very similar experience. Started working in post-production in the late 90s, moved out to LA for several years and got sick of the scene ( I worked on many many movie trailers). Moved to a smaller market and continued to do well but got sick of the people anyway. I switched to straight IT work and did very well with my own business and then as a department head for education. I then parlayed my managerial experience into working for a real estate development firm. I've never been happier.
If you want to stay in post-production moving to a smaller market is probably your best bet. Dallas is a great market for that. Atlanta as well. Shoot me a private message if you want to discuss further.
