Sources is Robert Barnes in the Viva Frei podcast, along with the President himself during that Christmas or Thanksgiving speech a few weeks back.
No, according to people who have spoken to him and the President himself during that Christmas speech.
Nope. That's why we have to continue to email them. You can do your part with this email list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_TGjkSkArXI1T-_3knTO4zVFK5aFgUGn3E2l9LipJJM/edit
Throw all of those emails into the BCC field and ask them to certify Republican electors.
I agree, but we don't control the President's strategy.
As far as I'm aware, getting the electors certified is a prerequisite for throwing out Biden's. Now, reps could challenge that, but they hopefully won't win.
I don't disagree with that. But according to people who have spoken with him on the issue, 2024 is his backup strategy, not forcing 2020.
That's not my dream and I agree that fair elections are dead. I'm just telling you what his plan is, according to people who have spoken to him.
I believe so. Even if they're not, Pence has ultimate authority over vote counting.
Thank you Japan. We're doing everything we can.
Once we certify Republican electors, Pence gets to choose which ones are legitimate on January 6th. Then, Republican just have to hold the line if the Democrats challenge his count.
This might be a bit of a blackpill for everyone, but President Trump has not discounted the possibility that all of our legal cards fail and Biden wins on January 6th. His strategy is not to go around the law in that case, but to become stronger than the fraud in 2024. I don't like it (nobody likes it), but it's the truth.
EDIT: Guys, don't shoot the messenger.
Yes, they can. It's all because we sent the alternate electors (and in fact, this is our path forward).
Source?
I don't know why people are freaking out over this one anyway. It's not like martial law was our only resort remaining (or even that good of one).
Followed by what step? Does the President have the institutional support to pull off ML? And would it end the way we want?
-
Legislatures retroactively certify Republican electors
-
Pence accepts the electors certified by the legislatures.
-
We win.
Alternatively,
-
Senators and House reps object to electors
-
It goes to a vote to accept the electors or reject them (I believe)
-
Senate deadlocks the vote
-
Thrown to the House by state delegation
-
We win
People got so caught up in this complex conspiracy plot that Powell pushed that they set themselves up for disappointment. We're going to go down the legal avenue, and there's no guarantee of success.
Everybody get in shape. You'll feel much better.
It's not. People got so invested into Powell's side of things when that was never the game plan.
We're going to win without it.
A challenge isn't immediately followed up by a House vote. The House and Senate have to vote after the challenge is made on which electors to accept.
I think the vote is to accept electors, not to accept the challenge (could be wrong). If everyone votes long party lines, that would be sufficient to send it to the House.
There are clearly viable paths. Is it a very uphill battle? Yeah, absolutely. But demoralization isn't welcome on this site, especially from an account created expressly for that purpose.
Alright, this one is pretty good.
Come to think of it, isn't everything that happens in D.C. a federal issue and therefore under the President's jurisdiction? Could he theoretically pardon everyone in D.C. for all crimes in advance?
Not going to happen, but a fun thought experiment.
They're not liberal, but they're pro-establishment. Federalist Society appointees will be strong on gun rights and religion, but weak in anything that goes against the establishment.
Yeah, it's really bright in this thread for some reason.
