Lowes gave me a free Bosch impact driver ($320). I had them rescan, when it didn't show up on the subtotal, with the other socket sets etc. Checker's response when it beeped "yeah it scanned". After about the 4th time, mentioning it didn't add the item with the price, I gave up and took the bagged gift and said thank you.

same way with stores, I refuse to use self checkout unless you pay me for doing a cashier's job via discount.
