I hate to generalize, and these are just personal observations... BUT -

Many families from that initial 1975 diaspora weren't of the peasant class - mostly because they were the ones living in cities with the wealth or connections to escape initially. They valued education and hard work and tried to send their kids to the best possible schools.

Those kids became indoctrinated surprisingly quickly. It's almost a running joke that if you send your kid to an Ivy they will come home to hate you.

Here's another fun observation: There are so many Viet graduates of the service academies and members of the military that they all have Vietnamese Alumni Associations. And no one bothers to mention any more when a Vietnamese American takes command of a unit (it's no longer a special or rare thing to be celebrated).

all 15 rounds into the headrest, eh? That's pretty good for a guy with a duty weapon who just took fire.

I subscribed to Wired for years. Sometime mid-Obama there was a massive shift in tone from their non-tech articles, and then a few years later, it infected the entire publication.

Fuck 'em. Die the slow cancer death of other print. You are useless and your only means of staying relevant was to pretend to be HuffPo.

I'll agree in part.

The media is made up of emotionally insecure, childish liberal assholes. So... yes, they are extremely butthurt because they got 2016 so incredibly, incredibly wrong.

But context is always important. And the context here is that the media is filled with leftist losers whose only virtue is seeking the praise of others. They have ALWAYS hated America and what she represents.
