It might be true. I grew up in a mostly black community and was always treated differently. Moved away and I generally only keep my friends white these days. Am I missing out on great friends, maybe. But I’m not taking a chance.
Ok. Thanks for the good argument. Truman ended WWII, Nixon ended Vietnam (his ping pong diplomacy is up for debate), Lincoln, for all his faults and aggression did save our Union and had a hand in making it what it is today. And Coolidge restored the presidency’s honor after the scandalizedHarding admin.
- Truman also was dirt poor after being president. His decisions I am 100% sure were made in what he felt was best for this nation.*
He’s not the best president we ever had. He’s easily top 20, maybe even top 15, but take the blinders off for a second. We’ve had some seriously great Presidents and Trump is close, but he didn’t fully cement his fate by letting this sham administration take office. Of course, that’s partly our fault for not turning the 6th into something that could really be acted on, but still... the top 10 presidents acted. And succeeded. It’s a tough business being leader of the free world.
I’m not sure. It’s the sports industrial complex, I think. The networks way over pay for the rights to broadcast, the advertisers funnel their money to the networks and it all ends up in the hands of the league. Basically the leagues, mega corporations, and the media just shift the money around and around to keep us distracted and entertained.
I mean, they are. They have their people under their thumb extremely hard. We have a huge schism in thus country that is causing us to be uncompetitive with the authoritarian government in China and the unelected beaurocratic government in Brussels.
I still watch, but it’s not what I fell in love with. When my team wins it’s cool, when they lose I could care less. I’ve also realized that spending time with my family is way more important than watching sport. You don’t get the time with your family back, there’s always another game to watch. They’re just overpaid, spoiled, ungrateful athletes. They don’t have it hard no matter what they say. I honestly struggle to even relate to these players. I want my sports back, but I also understand it’s never going to be the same anymore for me.
We said that about Trump. Even if they go full commie on gun confiscation, it 1) won’t be reported and 2) they won’t get you anytime they think you’re armed. Where is the actual line in the sand, if I’m being honest? A few dead DEA and FBI agents is a small price to pay for the what our government wants for us. We either actually define the line in the sand or we let it slip away like sand in an hourglass as we head toward our New World Order. Sorry, but that’s the hard truth.
It’ll be more torture for people like us. Having to sit with these idiots as we all head to our death. The crying, the shaking, etc. We’re all gonna die. Might as well go out with your chin up. But you know full well they’ll be balled up in the corner sobbing.
I have thought about becoming a teacher but I don’t know. I have been working blue collar jobs for many years and am a vet... can’t decide if it’s a degree worth wasting my GI bill on. I want to help our youth but I don’t know if I could deal with the red tape.
People with guns shouldn’t be “judge and jury”... also juries that convict black people should either, right? All doublespeak.
