My opinion on freedom of the press is this: at the time the original concept came to be, the press was a means of communication, the printing press. The fundamental problem posed by Gutenberg’s machine to the Catholic Church was that it was being used to further Martin Luther’s reformation. Before a private citizen owned a means to putting words on paper, the Bible was printed exclusively in Latin. Being that religion was the means of controlling the minds of the masses, Luther recognized the use of language to control interpretation of the scriptures.

This resulted in the perversion of church structures to a corrupt wealth-accumulating means. It had been happening for 1300 years by this point anyway! Luther said no, every individual has a relationship with god and that means they ought to be able to read scriptures and interpret for themselves; apply the ideas and lessons to their own lives HOW THEY SEE FIT, not how the church told them to. How did scripture make its way to the masses? The Gutenberg printing press began printing bibles in German, the language of the common people.

Nowadays is no different: because every structure WITHOUT FAIL becomes a corrupt bureaucracy where the low-energy, non-producing people hide their ineptitude behind an institution that is a parasite on the economy. They produce no real wealth, it is rent-seeking at its finest. The modern corporate media is no different, except they now are the only constitutionally-protected private businesses in the western world. They argue that they may not be censored or interfered with while conducting their business.

Maybe we need to open discussion on what “freedom of the press” actually means. I wholeheartedly agree that the means of mass communication of the day ought not be censored by ANY regulatory structure. Google and the medieval Catholic Church aren’t so different. I absolutely believe the corporate media has NO constitutional right to report untruth, to deceive, to outright lie while enriching the worst of our world and subverting the democratic will of the people.

So, let’s talk freedom of the press. Your thoughts?

I lost my shit on a close friend this morning over their fearmongering posts on social media. Explained how my family is being affected by Covid measures and not the slope sniffles. My strategy is a fake name and providing phone numbers for public health officials, rub’n’tugs, pretty much anything unsavoury. Do NOT voluntarily submit to this farce.

Unless you are incapacitated and they test against your will for admission into hospital, do not get tested. Not for any symptoms. The only way to end the madness is to stop the fake testing bullshit.
