-Hitler come to power because of a huge economic depression and blaming the rich (Jews), his economic policies were based on huge governmental spending.
Partially right. He came to power because of huge economic depression, 70% of the population fell directly into the depression and also took a large swath of the rich with them. Very few groups of people held onto their wealth, and people who were suffering saw them living the excess and going 'lul plebs' which pissed them off even more.
That was all rounded out by the collapse of reasonable, safe, and good society. And said society that doesn't protect it's children has even bigger problems. The government legalizes child prostitution has serious issues -- to the point that people who look at it go "I don't care if he's a tyrant, or even vile. We need help at any cost." Especially when it all happens in the span of a few years.
Sugar isn't poison. HFCS is hard on you though, very hard. Cane sugar? Beet sugar? They won't hurt you, they're simple sugars much like honey and are quickly used and converted, unless you're a lard ass.
Keep in mind though "primitive humans" on average had a life expectancy of 33.
Pretty much anything is on my table in terms of reading, except smut novels and romance novels. When I was a kid, the only books I had were the ones we could borrow from the school or public library. Made sure that my kids have access to any book they want, and I've built my own collection over the last 20 years.
I'll take a look at Carlyle, read some of Thucydides works when I was in university but haven't read any since. Might be worthwhile going back, thought it was a slog then. Appreciate that.
Mentioning people reading books and never bringing them back, happened to me as well. Though with my youngest sister, I'd started reading a lot of works written by Victor Davis Hanson especially his historical works. One day she asks to borrow "The Western Way of War" and suddenly my entire VDH collection is off with her to university, glad to say she came back as a strong conservative. Though the indoctrination wasn't nearly as bad today.
Sadly it was a thing. Things got really bad there, if you think things are bad now? Not even close. The middle class, and even the lower-upper class and parts of the middle-upper class collapsed. Around 70% of the population fell directly into poverty, the upper class, and ultra rich though? They made a mint and held onto power.
There's a real reason why that meme is literal truth.
Those aren't child brothels, it's still criminal in the UK and the west. Even if the police are so cucked that the country that gave birth to modern policing should hang their head in shame.
What people yourself included don't understand is that Weimar got so bad, that the government legalized child prostitution and child brothels. They operated at the behest of the government and the government collected taxes on it. Just think on that a second.
Then think on this meme from /pol/ "And one day for no reason at all, people voted Hitler." Things start to become a bit clearer when you realize just how bad things got.
Koch bro's were sucking Chicom dick, while playing the paleocon angle for years. While I'm more then willing to accept proof and evidence from them, anything they say is highly suspect because they're not in the "what's best for America" they're in the "what's best for my pocketbook."
Got any recommendations? I'm currently reading through Stanley’s "In Darkest Africa." For anyone wanting to read it, archive.org has a copy. It's generally very difficult to find print copies.
Nah and don't mind my snark. After yesterday's shit snowfall(got 37" and another 15" overnight) and managing to pull my back badly, I was in a pretty shit mood too. I constantly get yelled at over it, bad habit can't break it.
CBC no less. While a "crown corporation" and called independent, it's always sucked dick as hard as it can for the Liberal Party(Trudeau), and has for decades.
If you're a hockey fan, look at the bullshit that went down with Don Cherry. Ironically enough, his podcasts are even more popular now.
Keep in mind though, Machiavelli's Art of War is meant to be a Socratic dialog. Many of the parts where there are problems has to do with the construct of the dialog between the parties in the discussion, in terms of military understanding it fails absolutely. In terms of understanding how a ruler or persons of power should "understand" the military, it does a better job.
Though I agree that in terms of military writings of the period discussed in Epitoma rei militaris it's vastly superior.
How many illegal aliens in battleground states do you think are on the Trump Train?
I don't live in the US, can't vote in the US. I own property in the US though(Pasco Co., FL), and I'm on the Trump Train. Because everything that Trump did for the US, is exactly what needs to happen here in Canada to fix the shit going on.
Now that's not true. We all know that in the USSR they were doing lobotomies on political prisoners, when you lose higher brain functions you're always happy.
