I read it and it doesn't debunk the Yan report rather it suggests a number of reasons why the report might be wrong. Which leaves open, of course, the possibility the Yan report might just as well be correct.
The most obvious point of contention is Nat Geo's employment of a strawman falacy. The Yan report doesn't claim the virus is man made rather some naturally occuring viruses were combined and manipulated in order to infect humans. Big difference.
Oh yeah, I also spotted an appeal to authority fallacy. Just because a cloning method is outdated does not mean it can't still be used.
