Personal anecdote. Few years ago, very ill beginning of May, hospitalized for a week for serious gall bladder infection caused by gallstones. Spent all summer having to be very careful with diet to avoid further infection, stones finally removed in October which was the earliest available operation slot.. The NHS aren't very efficient, it's expensive and poorly managed.

Until then our black population was very small and consisted mainly of lascars (colonial sailors from Africa and Asia) who had jumped ship and their descendants from usually mixed marriages.
