During the early months, a lot of the deaths were from "experts" telling doctors to stop treating patients as individual patients according to what that patient needed. The new standard of "care" the experts pushed called for abandoning useful medications like Solumedrol and Duonebs, stopping BiPap and Hi Flow Nasal Cannulas, and told doctors to go straight to intubation if a patient could maintain on 6 liters of oxygen.
