Apparently he moved a gate leading to the monument (as you can see, it’s already rife with people), he was open carrying a Gatorade bottle with water in it, did not want to get arrested, and was told “Oh, now you’re resisting arrest!” At the time of filming, I personally did not intervene because I can’t take out 5 cops alone, and more importantly, I had no idea what he had done in the first place. Maybe he was a bad guy trying to do a bad thing, maybe the cops were shills, I had no idea.
