If you have to pay debt back vs the yuan and your currency loses value and their gains value, your debt just grew by that rate.
If you owe a bank 100k and the value of your $1 changes to $0.50, that 100k debt is substantially higher than it was when your $1 held more value.

This only benefits China. They have been devaluing their currency for decades, weakening their own buying power while simultaneously sucking up US debt. That is a terrible idea unless you know that the debt you are buying (usd) will lose dramatic value and in turn, increase the value of your own currency (ex: if a China buck is = to $0.50 usd and they buy a shit ton of debt and then our currency gets cut in half, that China buck has now doubled in value). We are quite literally watching as our elected officials sell out the country from underneath us. As the USD drops in value and strengthens china's currency, we end up with a debt to China that can never be repaid. China will completely own the US and all for a $600 check that wouldnt even cover a one way alcohol charge for Nancy's plane ride.
