Well think about it. Military at this point has become some sort of final destination for kids that pissed away their teenage years, need money for college, option B instead of prison, or even have no place or idea where to go after highschool.
People don't join the military to protect us and the nation anymore. Just watch that yellow footprints documentary. Something like half the recruits were in for any reason under the sun besides wanting to fight for the country. It isn't a place that just has patriots at this point. Not to mention all the foreigners(non-citizens) we allow to train with our military.
