I haven't researched those statistics before and I have to say I'm surprised. I can only speak from personal experience, but getting the license was more annoying than difficult. Everyone I know that tried to get one succeeded.

True. Getting a gun license here involves taking a simple test and paying roughly $100. With that, you can buy basically anything, except for "restricted" weaponry - i.e. full-auto rifles, silencers, bump stocks.

If you have a public IP, you can do it quite easily. However, traffic becomes a problem quite soon - imagine a thousand people streaming 1mbps video (very low quality) at a time. Just for that, you need 1Gb/s upload. That is not feasible with most providers.
