A much more valuable measure for gun control is to look at the violent crime rates of a nation before that nation instituted strict gun control, and the violent crime rates of that same nation after said strict gun control is instituted. If the gun control makes a positive difference you would see violent crime rate drops. But that doesn't happen. According to FBI Crime Statistics, in US cities, the institution of strict gun control consistently sees an increase in violet crime of between 40 and 60%. Australia's massive gun buybacks saw a violent crime increase of around 60% according to their internal crime data. MI5 crime data shows the UK's institution of strict gun control led to a 200% increase in violent crime.
Meanwhile, the removal of gun control laws does not see similar abrupt changes in crime statistics. With the removal of gun control laws there is a slight downward trend to violent crime with most removals, with slightly larger downward trends when Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws are implemented.
Didn't have a rifle team at my school, it was pretty small, but back in grade school the boy scouts (when they were still actually boy scouts) taught us both rifle and shotgun. Not sure if the All-Trillion-Genders-Scouts are willing to continue that now.

The police near me (the sheriffs as well, but the actual police chief) have refused to enforce any of DeWine's Panda Demic policies. The ones near me are based. Can't speak for other departments.
The legislature is currently suing DeWine, and is pushing through HB 612 (no penalties for violating unconstitutional coof restrictions) so they are doing all right now. DeWine is pretty shitty, though. He has been fairly inoffensive until the Kung Flu came in, but since then he's been a petty tyrant. He hasn't been as bad as a lot of Demonrat governors, but he hasn't been particularly good either. And the curfew makes absolutely zero sense from any perspective.
Along with every politician who has shut down or restricted businesses. The governors and mayors, by and large, have been the ones causing this pain, and I am wholly in support of all their property, up to and including their organs, be auctioned off to pay damages to those they have harmed.
