Allow me to say something nice about a Democrat:.

Frank Church was right, and we all should have listened.
The CIA, the FBI, and the media were all corrupt, are all corrupt, and all actively support each other in their corruption.
He exposed a lot of their dirty laundry back in the day (although he said it was only the tip of the iceberg), and he'd likely have beaten Carter for the presidential nomination if the media hadn't successfully gaslit the country that he'd gone Lin Wood.
Needless to say, we'd all be better off. He took a lot of heat, and a lot of hate, because he was over the target.

Of possible interest, he was military intelligence during WWII. I'm not sure how much institutional memory is left of the grudge at this point.
But I have hope.

And has been since it was called the Black Liberation Movement, murdering people in the '60s.

What do you expect from the asshole responsible for Ruby Ridge?

Sadly, he seems to have been the best option Trump had within the swamp. Remember, Mueller's attempt to set the narrative after the release of the report failed mainly because Barr recorded the "private conversation" with his " good friend". And Mueller's investigation was wrapped up only because Barr refused to accept an argument that an innocent man publicly proclaiming his innocence was "obstruction of justice".(Under all the hyperbole and sleight of hand, that was seriously the claim!) Would somebody who wasn't a slimy bastard have done the former, and caught the latter? But a snake that eats snakes is still a snake. (Which is likely an insult to snakes.)

Wait until after the 20th. There will be plenty of opportunity to flip the table after the last card is played.

Trump is up to something. It may work, it may not, but he explicitly asked us to keep our heads down and our noses clean.

How'd that work out for McVeigh?

Remember, that was shortly after the federal government straight up murdered citizens at Ruby Ridge and Waco. At the time, the Democrats held the White House, both branches of Congress, owned the Supreme Court, and were actively pursuing gun control.

Terrorism isn't generally the best way to make friends and influence people to turn against government.

While Trump is still in office, there's still hope.
It's faint, but there.

When that light dies, things might get interesting. Especially if Trump is assassinated or imprisoned.

Our saving grace is the incompetence of our enemies.

If they'd take an operational pause, consolidate, and push once people acclimated to "the new normal", we'd likely be screwed.

But as Obama once said, "Never underestimate Joe's ability to #_&@ things up." That's before he started lapsing into senility. He was kept in his basement nearly the whole campaign, was exposed only to softball questions from vetted allies to a remarkably degree (even for a Democrat!), and the belligerent idiot still tried to pick, what four? five fights? What's he going to do with the military, IRS, and FBI under his control? And we're just the people to needle him.

Then you've got the most vocal politicians and half the media loudly demanding that half the citizenry be sent to concentration camps.

Then there's the Trump card. As in, Trump himself. He's the most investigated man on the face of the Earth. He's survived scrutiny that virtually nobody else could, and everyone knows it. So here's the question: Do you think the Left, as it currently exists, is capable of leaving him alone once he's out of power? I fully expect him to be assassinated or imprisoned shortly after leaving office.
With an accompanying, "know your place, peasants" media blitzkrieg.

I don't expect to be saved by some unique virtue of the American people.
I expect us to be saved because God protects fools, drunkards, and the USA. And because our enemies were seemingly constructed by Jim Henson productions.

Setbacks and defeats will happen.
Rally and regroup.
Dig in and fight.

And if these #&$#&s try to impeach him, may a based Trump declassify everything and read the juiciest bits aloud during his defense.

Pretty much exactly this. I have a (blank) that's broken like this. She's not even a teenager, and the fact that someone else owns something she wants (or that something she can't have has the audacity to even exist!) sends her into a rage.

I know for a fact that she wasn't raised like that.

Thousands of hours of therapy, religious instruction, and mind-altering medicines haven't even slowed her slide.
Because, of course, there's nothing wrong with her. She'll tell you so with a smile on her face.
Right before she breaks your things out of spite.
I'd love her to grow up to be a contributing member of society, but I honestly don't see it happening.

Not historically true, but great rhetoric.

Can we please sticky this so it's one of the first things normies see when they like their heads in?

I tried it for a while, then tried to delete my account. I jumped through all the fricking hoops, multiple times, and they just kept reinstating my account. (Ditto Facebook).

Now, I'm doing my best to get them to delete it for me.

Remember, the Supreme Court held that a foreigner captured by the military in a foreign land while conducting war against the US, while flagrantly breaking the laws of war, and held in a foreign country, has "standing" to challenge the results of a military tribunal in domestic civilian courts. And you know their strange passivity in the face of us and our Republic getting @[email protected] will go away the very moment that such a move is made.

There are an awful lot of targets.

I want to see Trump do his trickster-hero schtick and pull it off. But odds are good that he'll soon be dead, and the problem well be ours to deal with, without the deux ex machina of loyal military tribunals.
Don't depend on the calvary coming to save us.
Figure out what you can do, where you are, with what you have.

You might be right. Or you might be wrong. Time will tell.

That said, there is absolutely no point to your prediction beyond encouraging passivity.

It reminds me very much of how Jonah Goldberg was acting from about 2010 on.

We'll see. If he'd have led the march to the Capital building, it's pretty clear that he'd have shared the fate of Tiberius Gracchus.

It's possible he lost heart after finding out that his string right hand was actively seeking to depose him for most of the last four years. But it's also possible that he knew, and is up to something. Alternately, he might be held captive and made the afternoon's statements under duress. (But I think the push to invoke the 25th Amendment indicates that this one isn't the case.)

We'll find out soon.

Moldymaltquaffer 2 points ago +2 / -0

We'll win. But now, not without bloodshed. Wasted lives, and pointless deaths, just because some schmucks feel they were born to rule.

May they burn in hell.

If this speculation is true, he's setting himself up to be appointed special counsel.

Special counsels have to have left government service prior to being appointed.

I'm not sure what to think about it. On one hand, he's the filthy rat bastard responsible for Ruby Ridge. On the other, he seems to be the least corrupt and most saavy swamp creatures in the upper DoJ. (Seriously, recording a call with "your old friend"? Who does that? But he was absolutely right to do so, as Mueller was trying to set him up!)
