You're talking brute forcing, yeah?

That's fine if you get instant feedback for each attempt. Fine if you're trying to brute force an archive file or something local.

Getting a login result (success / failure) back from a website might take a few seconds per attempt. Also, depending on the site, you can get locked out after "too many" tries.

However, you work in IT and I don't, so feel free to school me wherever I've got it wrong.

Btw I use KeePassX and my passwords are 24-character strings.

Video gets even better if you mentally replace the police car with Sideshow Mel playing a slide whistle.

I strongly suggest you watch Er ist wieder da.

Yes, it's a Hitler movie. Yes, it's a comedy--that suddenly turns very dark in the last ten minutes or so.

I like its portrayal of Hitler though. Usually media depicts him, at least in the war's closing years, as a raving madman. (That's why the sympathetic rendition in Der Untergang was so controversial.)

In Er ist wieder da, Hitler is shown to be savvy and adaptable, not to mention charismatic--which he was. Of course modern tech is mindblowing to him, but he immediately recognises its potential and jumps on it.

Not endorsing Hitler btw

Coming this winter...

[BLACKSCREEN-SILENCE]

Voiceover [Jesse Morgan]: "I liked that trailer. It was a nice trailer."

[RISING ACTION MUSIC]

Jesse Morgan was just a regular truck driver.

[SNIPPET OF ACTION SEQUENCE]

...

All he wanted was his trailer back.

I prefer to think he hoped it wouldn't come to this, but such is life.

The mother of all red pills.

He had limited power to change anything in the procedures themselves. States' rights, not his. And if he had such power in the first place, anything he could have mandated would just be repealed by the next Dem president on Day One.

He had to let the election run its course. The American public had to see 1) how their election process was vulnerable to concerted attack, and more importantly, 2) why they should care. The people had to see just how close they were (are) to the precipice. They had to see it for themselves.

The Japanese media is presenting Biden as president-elect, just like all the rest.

Trump is being represented as just being upset for having lost.

And now I have a Japanese friend who's backing Biden because Trump's withdrawal of the troops would leave Japan at China's mercy.

Please don't overstate Japan's support for Trump.

Without Rule of Law, private property does not exist.

Without private property, capitalism is a fiction.

Better start getting those ducks in line.

Merely being there is a deportable offence.

Not how I read it.

I read it as, "No matter what you guess, they tried it. They tried it all."

I'd like to ask the greater TD community this, but I'll start here with you:

HW Bush was a bit before my time. I remember the first Gulf War in the news but I was just a little kid at the time. How did he fare as president at the time, and now in retrospect?

Been a bit weak / neutered on certain issues but he has a hell of a knack for public speaking.

Probably obvious, but I'll say it anyway.

The communists' position on one's right to self-defense is inconsistent.

Kenosha Kid: self-defense laws bad

Inconvenient facts: claim that words are violence, retaliate with actual violence, cite self-defense
