Simply put, politics - especially todays politics - are toxic. The ideals and goals of the left are to demoralize and gaslight all opposition. Many do not want to subject themselves to this. Another reason is because we are not politicians, we are not political activists, we spend our time and energy focusing on our own lifes path. It is these two reasons - which reinforce each other - that keep the majority silent.
We need to start pushing for changes in law like this. If leftists can demand new and changed laws so can we.
