Another option is to make the data less valuable by messing up the data points used to connect one data set to another.
Mix and match phone numbers, email and other identifying data in any throw away accounts (grocery store cards, apps, etc). I regularly misspell my name by a letter or two, first and/or last. Also use the phone number 8675309 with local area code. Periodically I'll type several searches for completely random stuff to throw off the algos.
