It's a 30mm stationary cannon mounted in the nose of the aircraft so the pilot has to point the gun in the right place in some sort of strafing run to hit the target. Basically they have to 'swoop' down and they'll hit whatever they point at. A 30mm round is the size of a beer bottle and is designed to turn tank armor into swiss cheese. edit: For clarification, the video here is not being filmed from the A10 , probably recorded from a drone.
