My husband and I offered flags to our beggars on Halloween along with their candy.

We wanted to implement a 'No flag=No candy' approach but found out it wasn't necessary. As we sat in our driveway, behind a folding table topped with candy and flags the most incredible thing happened: every kid asked for one. Every. Single. Kid. Their bright eyes would linger on the jar holding the mini flags before asking with a smile to take one. Some were shy but when I offered, they immediately nodded and grinned. Little Zombies, Wonder Women, witches and Captain Americas on the sidewalk, together, being kids. Halfway into the 2 hour trick-or-treat event we looked out onto our street to see kids everywhere, waving Old Glory. It was damn beautiful. Not one parent refused on behalf of their kids, not a word. A look or eye roll maybe, but they couldn't/wouldn't ruin the kids' excitement. Happy Halloween & let's keep America great.
Tl;Dr- gave away flags on Halloween. Yuge hit. Happy kids.
