Its weird... but I think the leftist have gone do deep into their delusions now that they are genuinely scared of thier own shadow.
We generally think they are purposely deceitful with their rhetoric, but what if they actually believe it?
There does seem to be some kind of void in a lot of people that is filled with religion (not arguing the validity of it)...
when people choose to abandon religion, that void is still there. It would seem that people fill that void with political dogma, which is the next closest thing to religion. Which is why your get this fervor with Marxism that you don't get with a lot of other political persuasions.
Maybe... however presidential inaugurations are one of the few times when a lot of the senior levels of government are all together.... so it would make sense for the Continuity of Government alert system to be at a higher state of readiness.
I "think" that they released their policy manifesto too early. They formed over Brexit, but hadn't acquired enough goodwill amongst the populace in order to become a more mainstream party.
They should have saw Brexit through to the end, celebrated, and then change gears to become a more mainline party.
Loosing Farage didn't help, and him forming the Brexit Party hurt UKIP a lot by taking alot of those "Brexit-only" voters.
It was a bad decision for UKIP to bring in Sargon, Tommy R, Dankula, etc... its to easy for the media to take the spicy things that they have said and post it up for the country to see, in order to make UKIP look far-right.
That being said, UKIP was already on a downward trajectory prior to that and would have fizzled out regardless.
I'd tell them that you are not publically political and that if they have a problem with that then they can take a hike. It is nice to have things and creators you like who aren't political.
You are in a lose/lose situation unfortunately. If you like your channel, then keep doing what you have been doing. You'll only loose a couple people by remaining publically neutral, and will probably gain more patrons in the future as your channel grows.
If you want to do politics then that is your choice, its always good to have more conservative viewpoints out there. But I would be prepared to loose everything (as it relates to YT and tech companies) if you so choose to go down that road.
