I think its a difference between the approach of Malcolm X and MLK Jr. There is a reason why one is celebrated today and hardly anyone knows the other. Of course, part of the reason we celebrate them is because they were advocating for civil rights, and it seems no matter what approach we use we will be reviled. However, truth about what we should do should not depend on public opinion, whether we are celebrated or not. The right thing objectively is to peacefully protest and not fight unless to protect.
