I’ve noticed this too, especially with regard to firearms. The people who are most vehemently against guns never have any actual hands on experience with firearms or even bother to learn about them or how they function. All gun control is about irrational fear and only fear. Down here in Australia the government is literally banning toy guns because they are “scary” and people cheer because all their assumptions about guns are either propaganda or from action movies. But very few have actually have any knowledge past that.
