I know, there's a reason automotive exposed generally goes to the integrated mills. I'm a huge fan of our domestic steel manufacturers. Nucor, SDI, Cliffs, USX, CMC... They're all OK in my book.

Okay, I'm going to disagree with you on a bit, but I think I understand where you're coming from.

I trend a bit more towards center - I don't consider building a big-ass pipeline thru the US to be considered a right. I think the project is a great idea (which is why the government should approve, and give eminent domain), but don't think it's a right. If the supporters of the pipeline privately owned all land that it was going on, tell the government to pound sand, but I don't think all the easements/land rights are acquired.

If he ends steel tariffs, that's not very green of him. Use their point against them.

Look at tons of CO2 per ton of steel in the US vs China. Electric vs integrated. US is far superior. That's why I'm very long on Cleveland Cliffs. Their CEO is the shit, they own the iron mines, they vertically integrated perfectly. They nailed it.

Coronavirus was trumped up to hurt Trump. It'll be interesting in a year or two to take a huge step back and compare this year to a year with a rough flu/common cold season, especially given that last year wasn't a horrible season.

Reason being - Boomers are entering a dangerous range now. They're 55-75 ish range. Last year wasn't a bad year. Did this year just cull the herd a little too much? Let us know Fauxi.

That guy’s environmentalism is purely business.

Is there anything wrong with that? If he's not infringing on the rights of others, let Berkshire do business however they wish to do business.

I bet some steelmakers are a little annoyed. 666,000 tons of steel no longer needed.

If sourced in the US, that'd keep one mill busy for a long time (A few months, which is relative - everyone might get bored of the same heat all day every day, but whatever), or be a great "base load" for multiple mills for a while. Don't have my AIST magazine handy to see capacities/capabilities, but that's a lot of tonnage. I think that'd be about 0.5% of the US annual steel production, for one project, which is kind of a big deal.

Same deal for me. I could work from home, but we had some production issues that I wanted to be hands-on in troubleshooting.

Best part, I was contact traced within our own company. I was in a vehicle with a coworker for a long time the day I got the call. I asked HR about the coworker and HR was like, "We don't care about them now."

Shows how much they really care. Just enough to seem like they care.

And state subreddits. My state's absurd. Just not even worth trying to have a discussion if you're anywhere near the center.

You'd think life would be simple. Really only two real rules -

  1. Leave me (us) alone.
  2. Don't infringe upon the rights of others.

Apparently it ain't that easy.

What happened before this?

The dude looked like he was backing off, pulled a knife - which the video highlighted - and ran. Then got beat up.

We all support Rittenhouse, in this video the dude did nothing wrong.
