The core of the problem is the .gov mandated "free" K-12 education and the control of the material/content to teach.

1. It is not free, as we, the taxpayers, pay for it;
2. It is brain-washing.

DOE needs to be disbanded. The mandatory of education from k-12 and public funding of such needs to be abolished as well. Education, like survival, is a privilege, not a right. And if the .gov insist on taking my money to pay for others' education, I demand to determine where that fund goes to. In this case, I would much rather choose to give them to private or charter schools of my choice.
