Depending on the crime I would be in favor of automatic pardon/expunction of someone's criminal records after a set period of time. With no lawyer fees and nonsense. Depending on the crime perhaps 12 months up to 5 years. With some way for them to only be accessible through police for investigations. Or for sentencing in new crimes committed.
Just because you did something when you're 18 shouldn't mean you have this albatross hanging around your neck for the rest of your life for never being able to go to good schools or get a good paying job or vote or own a firearm.
Unless you're willing to say that something stupid like stealing a car should mean an 80-year sentence
The non felon voter is a state by state thing. In Pennsylvania felons are allowed to vote after they have served their sentence and their back on the streets living their lives.
Which frankly I'm in favor for because just because you did something stupid when you're 18 doesn't mean the rest of your life should be destroyed.
Of course that's based on what the stupid thing was if you stole a car come on, if you killed someone yeah your life should be destroyed
I've been involved with Pennsylvania politics for a long time. The ads Shapiro is currently running against masteriano tells me he wants to run against him in the fall.
Now mind you the ads he's running are going to Gin up Trump support for masteriano, but it's also designed to drum up anti-trump support for Shapiro. To me the entire point of the ad is please let this guy win the primary so I can beat him in the fall.
So if my friends and I start pretending to be a cartel will the federal government give us machine guns?
