Alberta will likely follow, yes.
Here's a helpful guide for what happens in a secession crisis.
life has only gotten worse for me year after year since the year 2000
This is true.
If you want a dark red pill - homosexual suicide rate has gone up about 1% per year since 2000. "Acceptance" is leading to more suicides.
Depends where you live.
The Presidency? Yep, it's gone. But if you live in a state with strict voting laws you are still deciding local and state elections.
You praise tradition but advocate communion on the tongue, something never seen until hundreds of years after The Resurrection.
You praise tradition but promote using not local language (as the disciples did things) not Greek, not Aramaic...but Latin.
You praise tradition but seem to believe the Rosary is important, even though such a practice would have baffled the Apostles.
I encourage you to learn more about the history of the Church. I honor my mother and father, they are not sheep. Also I said my "grandparents" not my parents, and they are not sheep either. They are faithful Catholics.
There is some truth to what you are saying, but at the end of the day, no shots would have been fired if the South had stopped using slaves.
Too much to go over here, so I'll be brief.
Woodrow Wilson won election on a fluke (he had no mandate) but once in office he introduced radical change. He started off our policy of world policing, laid the bedrock for the United Nations, premiered the money printing (Federal Reserve) and revived racism as a political force. A horrible, horrible administration - easily the worst in US history and most of our problems can be traced back to his work.
The French Revolution was essentially the world's first try at communism. A lot of the chaos that has occurred overseas started there.
The Reformation opened the doors to the way of thinking that led to the French Revolution.
It might make more sense to start at the beginning. Essentially what happened is this - prior to the 1500s, the primary model was monarchies. Monarchies had their issues but their power was limited. A king is essentially one guy who has to balance the needs of the nobles and the people, or else be overthrown. Kings could not print money, they could not take income tax, they could not conscript soldiers. The bureaucratic footprint was also small. Congress requires hundreds of reps, each with many staff members, whereas a king just needs a security detail.
After the Reformation the model drifted towards socialism. First step was republics. With a republic, suddenly the state has "the consent of the governed" so they were able to commit much larger abuses. For example, the first military conscription in Europe was during The French Revolution. Prior to that, soldiers needed to volunteer and be paid a salary. And again, that money wasn't printed.
It is an uncomfortable truth about history that monarchies are much more peaceful, and much less tyrannical. I'm not sure how the USA is going to square that circle in the future but time and again history has shown that republics are prone to Civil War, imperialism, and unbelievable overreaches. Monarchy is essentially a boogeyman that has never accomplished these sorts of abuses.
You know how we often make fun of communism? With phrases like "it just hasn't been tried yet." Well that's basically how I see republics at this point. When I was younger I believed they could work, but the USA is following the path of Rome to a T. The civil wars, the imperialism, and only ten generations or so before collapse.
When it comes to blame, blame the evil not the fool.
Roosevelt was a fool for running third party, that's true. But the evil that occurred was the work of Woodrow Wilson.
Slavery was not a worthy cause for secession.
Reminder here that Britain abolished their slave trade in 1833, without a war, and they do are not experiencing ongoing racial issues like the USA.
- Level 1 based blames Obama.
- Level 2 based blames the Boomers.
- Level 3 based blames Woodrow Wilson.
- Level 4 based blames the French Revolution.
- Level 5 based blames the Reformation.
The average IQ is 100.
Every time you expand the voter pool, that's one step closer to the average voter having an IQ of 100.
That only means something...if he actually sends it.
Woodrow begot FDR who begot LBJ who begot the Bush era.
Oh how the mighty have fallen...each of them smaller than the last. Biden is a puppy compared LBJ, who was only a breeze beside the hurricane that was Woodrow Wilson.
The Civil War brought fifty years of peace. But then we got Wilson, and the whole world has been paying the price ever since.
I agree with your advice.
I don't think my comment was clear though - the issue for them won't be if they can fudge the numbers. Of course they can fudge the numbers. This issue is this: we've seen they can take control when they're actually down 10%...can they still do that when they're down 20%...30%
Are people going to keep putting up with that?
It's harder to communicate online - that's true - but that doesn't mean it's hopeless. I don't see how segregating ourselves would not help, it would only lessen the chances of the truth spreading.
There is a lot of Mary worship among the followers of the Latin rite, certainly more often than in novus ordo. I think you're correct that the phenomena is even more prevalent in the Hispanic communities, but just because it is worse elsewhere doesn't mean it's not a problem.
I have heard a lot of arguments about the Latin language and some elements of the rite like receiving on the tongue (a practice which would have baffled the Apostles.) Having studied the history of those things, I am not convinced that they are all too meaningful.
If the Church is restored again before Christ's return, I believe we will see a new form. The Latin rite is superior in some ways - that it is performed ad orientum, and the lack of "extraordinary" ministers in particular - but too often the followers of the Latin rite ignore improvements made by the novus ordo.
For example, much much more of Scripture is proclaimed in the modern reading cycle. That is a good thing. And when it is read, the congregation understands it. This cannot be brushed aside. I have asked my grandparents about the pre-Vatican mass (described in near Garden of Eden terms by modern Latin proponents) and their response was basically that it was confusing and they didn't really connect with mass until the language was English. What am I to do with that information? Ignore that the novus ordo engaged their faith, where the Latin rite had failed?
I believe the revival of the Latin rite is playing a part in the restoration of The Church. I do not think returning to the Latin rite or relying on the Latin rite can be that restoration. Either a new form is coming, or Christ Himself. Beware schism, we should follow tradition yes but it is even more important to follow Christ.
We are already at 55 or 60% of the country, maybe more.
I wonder what the breaking point will be. If we get four years of Biden/Harris, will they really be able steal an election when our next guy wins 75% of the vote?
Is this a reference to the 2008 recession?
No, that is a losing strategy. That is what we've been doing for far too long. We have allowed Christ to be jettisoned from normal conversation and that is a mistake.
The devil would prefer we continue to retreat into our safe, contained little side conversations. Like the schisms, this has been a trap fallen for over the last few hundred years. If only the people of previous generations had not retreated. If only they had not started reserving conversations of theology to only those who are intellectually curious.
Let us talk about Christ, anytime, always. Do not turn Christ away when He arrives naturally in conversation.
As for Mary, I fully understood what I said - I fully understand the difference between worship and veneration. There are those that venerate Mary and there are those that worship her. I'm not worried about those that venerate Mary or any saint.
It's confusion mostly.
This is advice for everyone (not just conservatives) - if you want to be charitable, it's got to be personal. Stop donating to "organizations" and start donating to PEOPLE. Figure out people you can trust and give your money directly to them, personally.
Do not give the money to some organization with a bunch of chairmen who will do who knows what with it.
If you believe in a candidate, donate to that candidate. Never donate to a party. If you believe in a volunteer, find a way to get them money personally so they can volunteer more.
Don't forget batteries - if you think oil is bad, wait until you find out the sort of toxins we get from manufacturing batteries.
I'm sure a lot of people here can relate to that - I know I can. It is painful.
At the end of the day, you can either forgive and move on with your life, or you can hold on to these feelings and allow people like this to continue to rule over your life and your emotions. Do not let them do that to you. It is hard to let go when you have been wronged so badly, but I promise you will be happier if you forgive and forget.
Move on with your life. Do not expect them to say sorry. I don't say this for their sake, I say it for your sake. Nothing good will come of waiting for apologies, or wanting revenge.
If you want to win, it always requires being the bigger man. Because even when people have wronged you, it is better to give them a chance to be allies than to decide that they are your enemies forever. That is a waste. You don't need to trust them, but when your goals align with their goals, you can use that to your advantage.
Feel free to share your thoughts.
I will sum up my stance this way - sometimes being faithful to Christ means submitting to corrupt authority. Even unto death. Martydom is a heavy price, but it does a lot. Nothing inspires reform and restoration like the blood of innocents. Running away does nothing, neither does assuming false authority. Looking at the history of the Church, martydom has solved many problems, but schism has never solved anything.
not created by Jesus
Matthew 16:8 - And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
I don't know what denomination you have fallen into, but apparently if it's one that argues against Christ Himself. Good luck with that
that verse about Peter being "the rock"
Matthew 16:8 - And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
You are arguing with Christ Himself.
Okay fine, but why are we still trusting centralization?
Bitcoin is like a decade old. Surely by now someone has designed a decentralized version of Twitter, right?
