But Cuomo is so good for being on TV with PowerPoints! He's a true American hero! So what if he bragged about using slave labor? So what if he slashed the state's budget and reduced the number of hospital beds? So what if he is in deep with the corporate ruling class? So what if he provides literally nothing to regular people and scolds them for going to work to survive? He acknowledged the suffering, and that is the most virtuous thing you can do. Doing something about it would be too risky.
If that's what you truly believe, I don't think you're paying attention very well. Bill Clinton was a major force in making the Democratic party into the Republican party lite. His whole schtick of triangulation was naked abandonment of liberalism in order to find common cause with conservative billionaires. The Democratic party has been the party of Wall Street billionaires for a long long time. The fact that they still manage to convince plenty of poor people that they are in fact the champions of the poor, speaks more to the lack of education and historical knowledge among Americans, than any actual policies by the Democratic party to support the poor. Good cop, bad cop. And whichever cop you believe is which, depends on the propaganda you've been force-fed since infancy.
Democrats today virtue signal more and are willing to make concessions on fairly innocuous (to the rich) identity politics issues, but they still want to continue our permanent state of war in the middle east, dole out corporate welfare, crush protests, lock up/kill whistleblowers, destroy the environment (Biden's plan is a joke-and encourages fracking), and curtail our rights to privacy.
They knew he was so far left that anyone who had any savings or skin in the game that is called economy would vote for trump. Literally nothing crazy Bernie was about would help anyone who wasn't either poor, college student, minority, lazy, criminal, or all of the above.
Dems already lost many seats in the house. It's amazing and I feel proud knowing that the reps despite constant attacks and being called Nazi and racists held their ground. But not so happy how riggers can fuck with our voice.
They are talking about policies and how deep in bed with corporations the Dems are. And it’s true. The Republicans are steamrolling farther and farther right and the Dems are just following along slowly taking the ground that they vacate. Just look at how the Dems treat their own progressive candidates. They fear them, hate them, and vilify them. And then expect them to fall in line. It’s a country of one party essentially. Because neither really wants to help the people, they just want to help themselves. Don’t get me wrong, the Republicans are FAR worse. But they are still essentially the same policy wise. The Dems just hide it far better and at least make minor steps towards progressive policies to ensure that progressives keep begrudgingly supporting them.
Even the mecca of far-leff shit hole reddit understands that Biden (if given the chance) will merely bring back the swamp and career politicians and it will be back to buisness for the elites.
