The president should issue an executive order suspending news stations from selling advertising time during news broadcasts. Other shows and shit are fine. No ads during the news.

Every major network is making bank right now off advertising during their nightly and morning news shows. Fuck that shit. They are incentivized to spread fear and panic.

There was a time when brands would not have wanted to air their commercials during dark times for the country. It just wasn’t appropriate. Those days are gone and corporate America does not give two shits that 3 seconds after they tell you’re gonna die, they’ll try and sell you a Toyota.

End advertising during news. You’ll say, “shows will get around it by not declaring themselves a newscast”. And I’ll say, mission accomplished.

Yes even if there is a situation where it’s legitimate, I feel it’s irresponsible for the media to report on it. There sensationalizing of the situation only makes it worse. It can’t and won’t ever have a positive affect.
