They would have to completely purge HR, the creative teams, middle management, the senior staff, the park cast, the park management, and, well, just about everyone but the maintenance crews. Along with over 2/3 of the Board of Directors.

At that scale, you're not doing layoffs, you're nuking the company and rebuilding from scratch. All institutional knowledge would be lost, and at least 5% of those laid off would sabotage on their way out.

It's all ogre.

There will not be a national Caesar. It is up to people at the state and local levels to find and get behind their Václav Havel.

Might be a minor correction for you: Ragnar Danneskjold is a character from Atlas Shrugged, not Víkings. Not sure if the guy is otherwise Norse pagan because of Vikings though.

The past few years have felt like a Brian Regan joke on high speed.

In 1907, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna rejected a high school dropout. One thing led to another, and the United States of America dropped two atomic bombs on the sovereign nation of Japan.

That wasn't the intent of the pilgrims, but that doesn't change what happened to the Bering crosser descendants.

My beliefs and priorities are not and have never been represented in any government body ruling me, for my entire life. I am not represented simply because the person "representing" my region exists and got the most number of votes from people who are not me.

Consent is an individual, not a collective, affair. In fact, I have explicitly dissented in every way except for violent resistance, for my entire adult life. "Representation" my ass.

Prison is very expensive. Might I offer you some yard maintenance equipment as a cost-saving measure?

Don't buy into MMT garbage. Money is real, politics just corrupts the concept in order to steal from us. Using the first-person plural to refer to both the debtors and creditors in the MMT bullshit system is how they get away with it.

It's not splitting hairs. It's correcting a serious misstatement. If we owed the money to ourselves, default would have no consequences. Since it's actually a question of the government owing money to banks, it reminds us that the bankers and government have a knife at each other's throats, and neither wants to slice unless they have no other option. They'll only do it when the economy is utterly ruined.

The roadblock is approval by the legislatures of Oregon and the US. The constitution requires their consent in order to alter the border.

The workaround is for these counties' governments to just act as if it's happened. Send tax revenues to Boise, request disbursements from Boise, refuse disbursements from Salem. Enforce Idaho law, refuse to enforce Oregon law. Hold elections under Idaho law, send legislators to Idaho legislature. If Biden sends national guardsmen, put county police officers in the street to bar the way and dare the national guard to fire on American citizens for following Thomas Jefferson's philosophy.
