That is an ahistorical take that is more appropriate for our times than it would have been in the 17th and 18th centuries. I disagree. The core principles of our Founding Fathers were based and shaped by religion. If you don't understand the foundation of the movement you're more likely to understand just the form and not the substance. That being said, you don't have to go full Jesus!
