I think that the nordic countries will change soon. You allready start to see the same changes like you guys did in the US before trump. We have periodic "popular democratic uprisings" similar to the grassroot tea party movement in the US. We have sporadic anti elite demonstrations. Against windpower, tollbooths, immigration, violence etc. Just like in the US these demonstrations get put down by the media and elite. One day it will not be put down to rest, just like with Trump.

No, europe is not collectivist. Europe consists of many smaller nations that are centrally governed to a larger degree than USA. Our culture might be less individualistic than USA, but that is to be expected from strong homogenous nationstates.

I believe europeans are angry at american policy that lead to the wars in the middle east. Victoria "Fuck the EU" Nuland completely bypassed europeans on our continent. USA has spied on Merkel and probably everyone else. Europeans have joined americans in your war in Afghanistan for allmost two decades, and there is not really an understanding for what purpose we sent so many of our young to die.

I expect that once european media collapses like what is happening in USA we will see similar changes within european leadership. It is allready starting to happen many places.

I upvoted allmost every comment of yours in this thread. I think you have a lot of interesting opinions. expanding a bit on my point:
Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland has roughly 25+ million people and 1500 billion in GDP, while Russia has about 140+ million people and 1600 billion. Imagine if all of scandinavia went and reorganized their army for invasion defence instead of having a NATO style military. Imagine if France and Germany created a singular defence policy to specifically counter Russia and allowed small countries to join in. What if UK focused solely on countering Russian influence.
There is a lot of potential military might within Europe, too much for Russia. I think that a unified europe might be the only thing capable of rivalling USA. Personally I prefer a europe led by a friendly US. Thank god Hillary lost

Russia is not THAT dangerous. The Sovjets are gone. It will be extremely costly for the russians to do anything offensive towards Europe. I think US benefit more from european partners thank what is commonly believed. Could be wrong though.

If countries like Norway has a credible defence and a robust answer to russian manouvres we do not need assistance from US to give a appropriate response and we can properly maintain NATO security without bringing the US.
