The question is: if they win, why should we think there will be a fair election in 2022? (Or 2024 or 2026 or...)
Assuming those states, and only those states decertify: they total 37 electoral votes, which would reduce Biden's votes to 269 and raise Trump's to the same number. Neither candidate has the minimum 270, meaning contingent election with each state getting one vote. There are 26 Republican state legislatures vs. 24 Democrat. A vote along party lines would give the Election to Trump. Big question: Will all Republican legislatures vote for Trump? Plus: just one Republican defector = 50/50 split. What happens next in that scenario?
Someone correct me if I've got the numbers and/or procedures wrong.
