I’m not a based MD, but the research simply isn’t there either way. So, taking a risk based approach, you’d fall to wearing a mask as opposed to not. However, as time has gone on and at such huge levels of exposure, it’s becoming clearer that masks are not an effective protection. Sadly, they are an effective socio-political tool, so we have to fight for clearer answers, better research and a measured and impartial investigation into the risk/benefit of continuing to use them and determine if it’s really worth it at all. However, industry and government have little cause to do this unless sufficient public pressure was applied.
