It's pretty obvious that after their last major announcement outlining their new "rules" (e.g. Racism against whites is okay), right-wing viewpoints gained too much traction in the comments and were pretty visible. It reminded me of the old Reddit from ten years ago, back when it was good.
With their new method, they don't allow discussion in the main announcement thread but instead post announcement threads in major subreddits to allow separate discussions.
They have a long list of reasons as to why they are doing this, but they are all bullshit.
The main reason they are doing this is to obscure any record of opposition to their site changes and, of course, make censorship easier. By fragmenting the discussion across a whole bunch of subreddits, it's more difficult to detect censorship. For example, a highly visible, highly upvoted [conservative viewpoint] comment removed from an announcement thread is much more obvious than one remove from a subreddit. Additionally, admins can just blame the moderators of those subreddits, but the vast majority of moderators are radical-left anyway.
Yet another nail in the coffin that is Reddit.
I am a long time Reddit user (since at least 2009) who now reminisces on the good days where pretty much anything could be posted to Reddit.
My parents are Republican but I was NEVER exposed to politics growing up. I never engaged in political discussion, nor was I influenced by friends or peers. I considered myself politically neutral for most of my life and almost avoided politics altogether. I have never voted.
However, I noticed that for a year leading up to the 2015 election, there was a ton of "Sandersforpresident" bullshit on the front page. It was getting annoying because I didn't care about the presidency at all. However, I noticed some changes trickling in, and they weren't good.
"Bernie Sanders Bernie Sanders Bernie Sanders." It was seriously becoming a cliche. They truly portray him like he is fucking Jesus. His followers were part of a fucking cult. I was convinced he had a chance in 2016, considering how often he was on the front page of Reddit. Then he dropped out. Not even close.
That is when I realized Reddit was bullshit. I realized I was definitely not left leaning.
It's Reddit's fault I am voting for Trump. Had they not hatefully censored the shit out of all political opposition and imposed these shitty "rules" on their site, I would have just sat back and watched the fireworks... But now Trump has my vote. Reddit has opened my eyes to how batshit crazy the left is.
Fuck Reddit, fuck lefties. MAGA 2020
Lefties deeply internalize their racism. It is so strong, that the moment something happens which challenges their self-described moral superiority, they compete to see who can be the least racist.
An example would be Reddit going out of their way to replace a white staff member with a black one. Another would be white people who "fight" "racism" by going out on the street to "protest." It makes them feel morally superior.
People who truly aren't racist don't feel the need to go out of their way to prove they aren't, especially when they aren't asked.
Never forget the Bernie bot who posed as a Republican holding a Trump/Pence nazi flag to make a pretty picture for the MSM. Deplorable!
I was politically neutral for years and didn't get a damn until I saw how crazy the left is.
We all know damn well that thugs just like the previously mentioned Bernie bot are constantly at work doing horrible things to play off as representative of right wing ideology. In fact, it is what brought The_Donald down in the first place and we can't let it happen here.
Liberals love pretending (anonymously) that they are right wing and doing terrible things in an attempt to make the right look bad, only to disappear into their holes like farts in the wind.
Do not let down your guard! Strike down TRUE hatred right when it rears its head, no matter what color, religion or gender it targets.
And most of all, don't forget to vote! Let's leave Reddit a cesspool of crying liberals the same way it was in 2016. Thank you, the_Donald staff for your hard work and giving people like me a place to speak freely without being bombarded with hatred.
MAGA 2020!
