For straight storage and reach ability of pics and video type stuff you can get one of those hard drive arrays and put it in their “dmz” on the Internet and give the other family logins to it so they can access from anywhere and then you have complete control over it and no service provider can ever take it away from you. There are even apps to connect to it that make it super easy.
