Because Speaker of the House is third in line of succession. That does not mean she is "third place" in the election however, and since she's not on the presidential ballot, unless a faithless elector casts a vote for her, she isn't eligible to be selected.
Instead what happens is the new House is sworn in, then each state as a whole gets one vote in the House. Currently I believe the GOP controls the states 28-22 IIRC, so they would vote Trump.

If you've ever watched the Case Closed anime, I just got an image of Detective Conan shooting Biden with a tranquilizer dart at the start of the debate and talking into his voice modulating bowtie to sound like Biden.
It's actually really easy to tell when Trump is reading on script. I'm sure his teleprompter operator is well tuned into the tone and patterns of his speeches and can pretty accurately tell when he's about to go off the cuff. Also almost everytime Trump glances away from the teleprompter and towards the crowd you can tell he's about to go off script. He will then shift and look at the other teleprompter to continue his scripted remarks.
It's fascinating, really. I never watched political speeches really even before this year, but having watched almost every one of Trump's and (vomit) Biden's, it's easier than I thought to tell that someone is reading off the prompter. For Biden it's every fucking time for every single line. He never wings it so far as I can tell. It's so painful. By the end of his DNC speech it looked like he was getting cross eyed and was squinting like crazy.
I will have to go back some time and watch Obama's "greatest" speeches. I would bet he didn't go off script either. Probably he was just better at shifting his gaze from screen to screen and memorizing the next five words of his speech so he could glance at the audience and look like a great off the cuff speaker.
