The CCP hoped they could ruin Trump’s re-election with a pandemic. If Trump hadn’t spared us from catastrophe by shutting the nation down, China would have used the opportunity to take military action against Taiwan, Japan, or maybe even US forces in the South China Sea.
I am wary of the century-old (or older, depending on how deep you want to go down the rabbit hole) globalist plots, but China is the greatest immediate threat in my opinion.

The deep state has enabled China and naively aided their long term goal of world domination. But China is the real threat.
There is much about this virus that Trump & co. can't be sure of yet. I think they are keeping some of their suspicions quiet for now, both for strategic reasons and because one Trump's main goals has been to avoid panic. For example, there is mounting evidence that the virus can cause permanent organ damage all over the body. No one seems to be talking about that.
The true origins - and the intent behind those origins - is something Trump will only reveal when the time is right.

You are ignoring the damage done to China during all this, which is far worse than we have suffered. Maybe they took a gamble that the virus would hurt us more than it hurt them, but Trump’s mitigation efforts made sure they lost that bet.
Do you forget that they too shut down their entire economy for weeks? Since then they have lost more and more money as businesses move factories elsewhere.
And they are still struggling with the outbreak, albeit in secret so we don’t know how bad it is. Their standing with the international community is severely damaged. They have pissed off world leaders everywhere with their PPE shenanigans.
We are coming out of this thing way ahead of them. Their plan has been an utter failure.

We hunkered down through what would have been the worst of it. The curve has been lowered and we avoided overwhelming the hospitals. Medical industry is well on the way to providing treatments and eventually a vaccine. In the next few weeks Trump will begin opening up the economy in segments, and by this time next year the stock market will be breaking records again.
Generally I agree - unless the answer can easily be found in the top ten results.
