The eastern half of Oklahoma has a lot more Indians. There was a major court case where they were basically awarded the land but nothing has come of it. I’m technically on Indian land but you wouldn’t know it if you didn’t read the sign on I-40. There are tribal lands where they have their own police and stuff though. I don’t know much about that. I do know people would die if they started trying to take property. Oklahomans don’t put up with that crap. Basically it’s a moot point for the vast majority of the state.
I live in Western Oklahoma and love it. It gets over 100 often but there is low humidity. There are more trees and more humidity East of I-35. City people are crazy like anywhere. You would probably like the northeast part of the state or eastern Kansas. It can get pretty hot(over 100 for days). You might like Kansas better since it’s farther north. If you stay away from the cities in Oklahoma or Kansas people make great neighbors and most still have good values. This is a great place to raise a family. Depending on you and your husband’s careers, 20 minutes outside a bigger city would be perfect. Tulsa has a lot of lefties though.
ETA: Southwest Missouri is beautiful as well.
I think that’s a very small percentage of people. From what my son says, almost everyone at his schools supports Trump. I know they are good kids. I live in a small town though and what I see might not be representative of the nation.
It’s been this way for a long time. The people at the NRCS were practically begging me to put down Native American on a loan application years ago. I wasn’t contacted about the loan either. I should go re-apply since I’ve transitioned to a black lesbian. I probably wouldn’t even have to pay it back.
