It may be a law on paper. But the last year has shown that those enforcing and executing the laws have complete contempt for the laws that you cite. It may be illegal but we live under big brother now, that is not the law, that was NEVER the law.
What they want you to forget is that before 2020 people were, in fact, dying from the cold. However it was not always diagnosed as the cold. Sometimes they would say "viral infection" or just "infection". So they start lumping all the unknown infections into "COVID-19" and compare with "common cold" or even "flu", it is some slightly bigger scary number. In reality nothing has changed except overzealous tyrants are running the show now.
'Proud' is probably the wrong word of you microanalyze the statement. I guess I'm happy I did that. But I remember the recruiter being kind of a prick and deciding I was just going to skip the interview and hang out with my friends. I already had a few job offers, even one with NASA that I eventually turned down so it's not like I was deciding a life of booze and partying over a middle class job.
