Except me. I'm a flight attendant. It was the only way to catch it. I particularly enjoyed the caption that said, "Angry Trump uses propaganda video created by the government with taxpayer's money."

I'm a flight attendant. They cannot furlough until Sept now. It's good because I have a job. It's bad because now I cannot draw unemployment here in Indiana. On unemployment I would bring home $985/week. That's more than I make when I actually go to work. On top of it, because they can't furlough, my hours have been greatly reduced. I'm trying not to be bitter because my Dad needs this. He lost his business of 18 years in two days.

But when people are making more money on unemployment than when they go to work, what's the point?

I love what you said. I hate working with other women for these very reasons. It's not that I don't like working with another female. She would be just another coworker to me. It's that it's inevitable my female coworker will treat me awful at some point. I'm a flight attendant, and it's seniority based. I'm in my 30s, but I'm senior to many women in their 50s and 60s. They treat me horribly because they can't stand I'm senior to them as a younger women. My best guy friend tells me all the time, in the 14 years he's been a flight attendant, he's learned women treat each other horribly. It's quite sad.

Thankfully, I have a fantastic self image, and I have self confidence, so I move on quickly. It just makes me sad women can't work together.

I'm a female flight attendant. I hate all the female captains I fly with. Their problem becomes my problem every time. The last captain was a smoker. She asked me to sit and watch her stuff while she went and took a smoke (we had a few hour layover at the airport). That would mean I would be waiting on her for who knows how long. I would be stuck in one place watching her bags. When I said no because I wanted to do my own thing and walk around, you would have thought I told her to sacrifice her first born. She spent the rest of the trip making sure I "paid" for telling her no.

Actually, I just hate working with other women in general. I tend to be more pragmatic in how I work, and my female coworkers hate it. If a passenger annoys me or is rude, I get over it and move on quickly. Many of my female coworkers will spend the rest of the flight finding ways to be passive aggressive against the person. Drives me nuts.

Do you find you dislike working with other women? I'm a female, but I am rather pragmatic at work (flight attendant). I would rather work with a male crew than a female crew. The women I work with are catty, passive aggressive, and just mean to each other. My best guy friend is also a flight attendant and he tells me all the time, "women treat each other poorly." It's sad but true.

Agreed! That's the beauty of the American Dream!

We need technical and trade schools to make a resurgence. Many of those industries are desperate for workers. We need plumbers, electricians, etc.

I'm a woman. I'm totally fine that women aren't leading our country. I find the vast majority of women are very emotional and would be unable to make quick decisions under high pressure.

Obviously women are very valuable to society and government, but men and women have different strengths and weaknesses, and that is perfectly okay! Look at Melania. She is powerful, gracious, and doing a lot of good in her role as First Lady. I am thankful we have a president who supports his wife and encourages her in her strengths. That's a true partnership!

It's unfortunate you choose to make assumptions about my customer skills when that's not the argument here and implore me to choose another profession. No, I couldn't actually be a doctor. I'm one of the very few who decided against taking out massive amounts of student loan debt to get through college. I graduated a decade ago in the recession, and I took the first job available. While I'm a conservative, I hate that my party always says, "get another job" as an argument (as if it's that easy to switch careers).

I don't hate my customers or disdain them at all, and I love my job. I'm a fantastic flight attendant, and I get compliments regularly, but I don't expect you to take my word for it. I would rather have all my passengers be business travelers and frequent flyers as you claim to be. I love my business travelers! Any "disdain" you think you noted comes from passengers who treat flight attendants as servants rather than the safety professionals we are. We are extremely underpaid, so while I agree we should all give wonderful customer service, I am not surprised by the industry's lack of customer service. New hire flight Attendants are literally making poverty wages. There is a crisis of stagnant wages here in the US. Especially for anyone in the service industry.

A friend of mine recently flew to Rome on a basic economy ticket. She paid $400 round trip and was upgraded to economy plus seating because there was not room in the back. That's an example of the "pennies" I speak of. Who in their right mind actually expects a round trip ticket for $400? It should cost vastly more. As a business traveler, I doubt you even consider basic economy tickets, but you should look at them sometime. They are very cheap. They come with a lot of restrictions and passengers do not always read the fine print. But, again, I maintain caveat emptor.

I still maintain flying is a choice. You argue flying is required. THANK YOU for proving my point:

"The reality of business travel is, yes, in fact, flying is absolutely required. I daresay it's even a requirement simply due to the accelerated pace of society these days - in terms of vacation travel or any other need. Who rightly would think spending 2-3 days out of a typical 7 day vacation week traveling by train, bus or car is a good expenditure of such valuable downtime? Common sense: It's not."

This 👆🏻 right here is exactly why airlines are getting the bailout. Passengers demand air travel for the reasons you listed above. You argue you wouldn't spend time traveling for by other means of transportation. If the airlines fail and shut down due to the Chinese flu, how else do you think you would be traveling? By bus. By car. By train. By boat. Since that's impractical, airlines need the bailout.

My staunch liberal friend who voted Bernie in 2016 and has been a hard core supporter of globalism told me today to screw these countries. He said we need to take back control of our borders and focus on Nationalism.

Everyday he sounds more and more like Trump. 😁

Maybe so, but it's still stimulating the economy.

Hopefully this will teach people to live within their means when the economy is good so they can prepare for times like these. But, alas, humans....

IF this is as bad as they say or are acting, why isn't domestic air travel grounded for two weeks? I'm a flight attendant. My flights have been decently full of basic economy passengers. The B.E passengers I have flown today were the elderly (aren't they a high risk group?), MANY foreigners (we see their passports), a group that literally connected to my flight from Tel Aviv, and then a bunch of young kids.

Again, if we are in a crisis, the airlines are the rats of the black plague. If they want to flatten the curve, ground flights.

I'm a flight attendant. I have my own opinions on the matter as far as airlines go (for example everyone else is shutting down, why are we still required to be at work and exposed?).

With that being said, flying is a choice. No one is required to fly. There are cars, trains, buses, and boats. Passengers get treated far better than they pay for. I find it's the leisure travel passengers who are the most problematic. Not the airlines. The amount of times a basic economy passenger who paid pennies for their tickets demand first class any time there is a small delay is insane and too frequent. Passengers buy the cheapest ticket possible with three 30 minute connections and then blame the airlines when something goes wrong and they miss their flight. Caveat emptor.

Also, the airlines employ millions of people. We are affected just the same. Many of my coworkers are being furloughed. It's sad for every industry.

This. This. This! I moved to Indiana a few years ago. I'm a Christian. Love Pence! My liberals friends hate him. When I ask why it's only because he's a Christian.

I'm a flight attendant at work today because I have to be or I'm penalized. But I am thankful to have a job and get paid!

I mean. I'm a flight attendant working today. When do I get to stay home? Every flight has well over 10 people.

I'm pretty sure I had it a few weeks ago. I was sick for 2 weeks. Respiratory crap and everything. All the symptoms. Fine now. At first I thought pneumonia. Then bronchitis. I had the fever. It was gross. In my 30s and healthy overall.

As a flight attendant, I do my best to sit as far away from a TV as I can when I'm in airports. I'm so disgusted with CNN. LGA is the worst because no matter where you sit, they have speakers blaring CNN. I've gotten good at tuning them out, though. Worthless.

Not in my neighborhood. They bought ALL the perishables. PERISHABLES! Good thing I know how to cook so I could adjust my menu plan.

Welcome to the Trump train! Enjoy the ride. It's a wild one!

Don't worry, you'll get used to the feeling of winning soon enough!

I disagree. We voted in Trump, but then lost the house which allowed the impeachment sham to waste everyone's time. We need to vote in EVERY election. We need to take back control.

We need to get control of the house back! This is why we MUST vote in EVERY election!
