To be honest, the guy did have a horrible history of getting his men slaughtered and sucked at military leadership. Much like liberals when they hit their 30s, GW came into his own and stopped being a selfish prick when the Revolution started. As a political leader he worked out great.

Conversely, I hate that most sites and apps strip away metadata from photos. It not only can be useful for repairs and touchups after the fact (esp. camera lens data), but it also allows for easier tagging and sorting.

If you don't want metadata on your online photos, it's your duty to strip that data yourself. Demanding that all photos have minimal metadata in the future also denies legitimate usage of that metadata to those that want it there.

This is the herd mentality that allows people to become mindless followers. The real solution? Do what the UK did for Brexit and make your own new party.

Try the old but good Deezer. Still one of the best, and has amazing quality if you pay for HiFi. Also look up Deezloader/Deemix if you want to download your music for use on a standalone player like a FiiO or something.

There's a BE20 (PAT210) headed for DC and descending. Originating in Dallas area, moved to the border at El Paso, flew right over Roswell for some reason, then stopped at Nashville on the way to DC.

There's also a C17 (RCH888) quickly descending near Dover AFB that originated in Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Thought it was headed for DC for a while there but it just made a hard turn due West. Might be terminating elsewhere or refueling after the long flight. Dunno.

Those are the only US registered craft that stand out ATM.

Handful of planes coming in. A C17 and a BE20 look to be terminating in DC soon. Another C17 that originated in Ramstein Air Base in Germany is also heading for the Potomac area but is not coming down in altitude.

Update: These planes don't seem to check out. The BE20 overshot and is looking like Atlantic City area now. Two more C17s from Ramstein Air Base are high over Maine and Vermont heading in the vector of DC. Also a short while ago a B737 took off from this airport and is over Lake Erie ATM; could be someone escaped on this or was taken out pre-flight? Keeping track.

Very true.

However your wireless carrier has to actually send out the alert to trigger a message and no changes are needed to your phone. The more likely way to stop people getting a Presidential alert is via carrier non-compliance, hence the FCC mandate reminder that went out earlier.

I'm not doubting they CAN do it, just that specifically Android phones would push out such an update as fast as Google would like / require.

On the other hand if your cell carrier refuses to trigger the system altogether, Apple and Google wouldn't have to touch a thing. The mechanism to make that plan work is far simpler and less error prone, too. That could be why the FCC reminder for compliance went out to service providers, even.

I'm just talking logistics as a software and server systems programmer. In any case, denying the public access to EBS messages is a federal crime and depending on the intent it can be escalated to a crime against the federation (treasonous). For good measure do what you can on your device to get around such censorship of the GEOTUS.

Apple handles these sort of updates on iOS. Google does not have the same ability with Android. Pixel phones might be affected but other manufacturers need to patch and queue up such updates to work with their own flavors of Android. That takes a few days even for critical updates.

Also the EBS messages on your phone are triggered by your cellular provider, not the hardware manufacturer. I would expect AT&T, Verizon, etc. to be the ones refusing to comply, not Apple or Google. Just my 2 pips.
