True on the point about the young age range being impacted by the vaping related illnesses, which we have not seen to that extent with the Szechuan Sniffles.

But I disagree about the conclusivity of what reagent was responsible. Certainly not this novel virus. But I've yet to read anything that identifies the mechanism of their vitamin E theory, and no other pathologies have been put forth as an alternative.

It was about 70 people who died in 6 months, with over 2800 similarly reported cases. Was that a substantial spike in vaping related hospitalizations (compared to prior 5-8 years), or was this just a cause celebre by the public health mouthpieces to scare people off e-cigs?

This is an industry and market with such little quality control since day one. It was never a fully regulated and tested supply line, so these chemicals presumably have been present in some x quantity for the last decade.

And they haven't traced all cases back to one single constituent or consistent mixture of chemicals. It's still vaguely understood.

Well now that is interesting. Do they know what kind of vaping cartridges he used and if they were similar in compositions to the ones suspected last year?

Right, I guess my supposition is that those cases were misattributed, since most showed up as pneumonia. Were they able to screen for the Flu Manchu virus in standard blood tests and cultures in September?

Also, here's a map of the COVID hotspots compared to the vaping illness hotspots: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/cms/asset/7d3d7641-0d74-4769-81e4-b922340cd4b6/lio2386-fig-0001-m.png

They overlay almost 1:1

40% of the cartridges submitted by states who had populations of those getting ill did not contain the Vitamin E acetate substance.

Thanks for the links. I think the THC factor is more of a red herring. They were the ones most afflicted because when they inhale, they are more likely to hold it in their lungs much longer.

They seemed to have landed on the vitamin e acetate as the specific agent causing the severe illnesses, and those who use THC cartridges with that chemical were more aggressive with how they inhaled.

That's my guess, anyway. Because there are just as many questionable sources of vaping cartridges that do not contain THC, and they didn't make up the largest % of known users who got ill.

They referred to the condition as EVALI. But that ingredient has been a common agent in a lot of vaping concoctions. The rapid and sudden increase in cases is what's beguiling. These respiratory cases would have been studied long before the fall of 2019. What was the proof or pathology that it was the vitamin E acetate?

Maybe I am mistaken, but that chemical was not novel to Sept. 2019? It's been found in various fluids in the vaping markets for years. So why the acute upswing in illnesses?

"Sufferers typically report a gradual onset of early symptoms over days or weeks, including respiratory symptoms such as coughing, chest pain, and shortness of breath, as well as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, fever, and weight loss."

Sound familiar???

I found some reports of the symptoms at the time:

"Sufferers typically report a gradual onset of early symptoms over days or weeks, including respiratory symptoms such as coughing, chest pain, and shortness of breath, as well as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, fever, and weight loss."

The cool thing about the cognitive decline is that he probably won't remember any of the vicious ridicule and mockery. At least not long term.

It's kind of like the hosts in Westworld. He'll be wiped clean by the next day.

I think the US (Trump) should void their property ownership as an Executive Order, and really turn the screws on China's elite.

Trans might be above Islamic cultures. The forced-transing of gay men in Iran is often pointed to as virtuous and proof of legitimacy among the trans rights activists.

It's a tough call.

I believe People of Color are above LGB. For instance, the black American culture is incredibly homophobic and misogynistic, and gets a free pass of criticism by Progressives™.

I think by 1680 the colonies were fully invested in the slave trade, where ships were dedicated to their export from coastal Africa. I think 1619 was the first record of "African Prisoners" being indentured along with other conscripts.

And yes, his quote is ridiculously misleading, bordering on an outright confabulation.

Yeah, absolutely. The mounting contemporaneous recountings that corroborate her exact story are becoming too many and too consistent to ignore.

I'll be honest, I was remaining pretty skeptical until this former neighbor came forward. I wonder if any Senate HR docs were digitized or archived that can further indicate she was demoted and let go circa the time she alleges.

It's mounting to be pretty impossible to dismiss this. I would safely put it in the "credible allegation" category.
