The LNP-mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna are basically vaccines on demands. The manufacturing is nothing like prior vaccine production and the safety profile is generally recognized as safe. In fact the LNP in the vaccines were FDA approved in 1996. The RNA segment is just a genetic code that tells your body what to make an Ab to. It breaks down naturally with cellular enzymes.
The vaccines are not fully elucidated and optimized. But that is something you'd want to do to try and find other uses like cancer vaccines. Otherwise durability, how long you're protected from infectious is unknown. Considering its a virus, it will likely need to be a seasonal injection to maintain high enough Ab during the flu season.
At the end of the day, get an RNA vaccine and protect yourself as soon as you can so we can all go back to normal.
