Muh? Look at Italy, 368 dead it 24 hours. Many of which are because their hospitals are overflowing. This thing kills at a rate 30 times higher than H1N1 and is already transmitting faster. Those numbers on H1N1 above are huge, and we are gonna blow right past them at our current rate. But “meh everyone else is a pussy for worrying about this look at me I’m so tough”
In addition to the higher death rate, it’s spreading faster. If you track both H1N1 and Covid-19 from the day they were discovered, we already have more infections than that did, and are only speeding up infection rate.
If people here still don’t believe the danger, just look at Italy, hospitals are overflowing and they are having to use triage - determining who is most worth saving, since they can’t help them all. If we don’t shut down for a few weeks, hospitals will be overrun and a lot more people will die.

China is peaking precisely because they shut everything down. We should follow their lead if we don’t want to continue exponential growth. Right now, from the time both were discovered, the corona virus has already infected more than H1N1( we are currently on track to have MORE cases than H1N1) that combined with the 20% hospitalization rate and 2% death rate makes it pretty bad. Again, the only reason China is turning around, is cause their government stopped everything. Also, how do we know China is reporting correctly? Many people I the USA are still dying of pneumonia and not being tested for Coronavirus, I’m sure it’s happening on a large scale there and they won’t report it.
