Conservatives and liberals are different creatures. The conservative reads the post for the information and assesses the content. That prompts them to reply, or triggers some research, or perhaps ignore it as it may contain nothing noteworthy. He may or may not remember to updoot, unless it was a very powerful message.
The liberal reads the post, knowing ahead of time that they will agree with it and that thinking is not necessary. It is largely an emotional exercise for them. They spread upvotes around like candy thrown in the air, knowing that everyone else is doing the same and they will get their share.... as long as they agree with the collective, 'cause it's all about the need to belong.
