M.A.D.

If you're ever forced to show your hand, there isn't anything left to win. So wrap them in redtape and regulations that everyone pretends to follow.

While you and I hope like hell someone is already en route to help make sure it's built wrong.

That.. is a fuckin heartwarming truth. Those guys will be better taken care of than any of their agency for a long time.

Thanks for pointing that out!!

Dear Lord, if I'm obiwan we are far more screwed than I thought.

I would never bet on me not being ignorant of facts, and neither should you.

as far as politicians, At this point something not being done before certainly sounds better than playing the same game on turned tables.

Replace them with people that only agree with us and anyone who doesn't agree is probably a satanist sounds a little too familiar when anyone who asks questions here today is labelled a terrorist.

This is something I don't agree on as much. While a personal relationship with God is a healthy and wonderful thing, God doesn't pay taxes. A politician should have a strong, moral, personal belief. But a clear majority of people should have the final say. Simply leaving it to another group of sole interpretators is just putting it in the hands of a different type of elites, who are still corruptible. The only way representation works is when the person representing you is constantly connecting with you to decide shit. You can be a person, but when you're 9-5ing in politics you don't get to have an opinion because you're not a private citizen anymore you're a vessel, and not just for God and your party, but for the popular ideals of your entire local on up community. The more control one person takes, the more they can fuck up with one bad idea. Jesus is wonderful, but I'll eat my hat if there's anyone right now worth trusting as much as Him.

Some people's children. Take an inch, then demand a mile. At least you found out, someone decent enough to wonder where all that money was coming from while I'm sure you had to just about double down on bills

Truth. A personally chosen disaster is absolutely grounds to ascertain whether or not the disaster was just a horrible fluke, or if the disaster is the person who wants in your house.

But, not grounds to assume it burned down because it was a methlab, it could have been faulty wiring or poorly placed heaters, as well. But your point stands. It's a fucking joke to say that this law abiding citizen must endanger himself for the sake of someone who was operating far outside those bounds. That's like saying you shouldn't have fences around prisons, because people forced to be there might feel trapped.

The people always evolve far faster than the institution around them. Like you said, a JFK democrat is far different than a today Democrat. And I'm sure a 60s Republican would have grave concerns looking at the GOP.

That's why there was option 3. I'm sure you wouldn't completely be at ease with anyone else in your house, regardless of where you thought their loyalties lie, because yours probably lie with your house and the people you intended the house to home.

beyond the extremely valid safety concerns, The little old lady yammering about bernie, while annoying as hell, probably wouldn't make your list of dangerous people you shouldn't let in. Or the dumb kid who works at the gas station who swears doubling the minimum wage won't just drive prices higher while enveloping anyone who had worked up to 15 into the new poverty level. Uninformed, but probably not a safety concern.

The guy demanding you let him in and give him all of the guns in your house because they make him scared? Far less innocuous.

I am not sure they are exactly the same, a couple deviations here and there are pretty normal.

But I do like how there's a circuit breaker for when the dow is shedding too much of the big guys money,

And another circuit breaker if less than a handful of stocks are going the opposite direction than they had "divined"

All I got left is root. And I've logged into that twice. And it was on a pi. To change a username

So I'd say you win this round, but it's more like you just didn't choose to win until this round

Fucking exactly. The people that truly physically or mentally need help forever have rules, regulations, guidelines, redtape, and hoops to jump through their whole lives. But if I just don't want to work? someone will fight tooth and nail so I can waste money just like the people who earned it.

There is always a community responsibility to do what you can for people that truly need help. But there should be the same responsibility to do everything possible to not exploit that help.

A la 3 little pigs

Pig 1). I am a democrat, my house was blown down in a terror attack, you must build a let me live in your house regardless of contribution because we live in the same woods

Pig 2). I am a Republican, I do not have to help you or anyone that I don't feel is deserving. You should have built a better house (argueargueargue, until pig 2 also has no house )

Pig 3) I am an American. Get your dumb asses inside before you get fucking eaten. (After threat has passed) now kindly get the fuck out and try a little hard at being alot smarter.

Haha you are all fuckin awesome.

It was an analogy first and foremost. but

There aren't even words for how funny and encouraging it is that you "domestic terrorists" are throwing out fiscal/auto advice to some jackass that wandered in from Fox and CNN.

No words

A little from column A, a little from column B

Mainly column A. I have far more faith in the country than my pickup

1
PatrickProtest 1 point ago +1 / -0

Just heard from the Whitehouse, my problems are over, they're gonna take my ill-gotten pickup and divvy it up evenly so that 100 people can have a broken pickup!!!

2
PatrickProtest 2 points ago +2 / -0

"You can't OWN a pickup! "

1
PatrickProtest 1 point ago +1 / -0

09 f150

Haha I was sure the cam phasers would give it away

2
PatrickProtest 2 points ago +2 / -0

These are both proactive options, but given the fiscal times, buying a new one(while arguably far more cost effective) is a large initial sum that wouldn't be feasible for most.

But, you did pick it up, just didn't notice. Neither of your offered options involved doing nothing.

Substitute the country for my pickup. It could blow up tomorrow, next week, next year, or it might just hobble on until you don't have to keep paying it with duct tape. But that doesn't mean I don't need it to get me to work, or the store, between now and it's funeral

3
PatrickProtest 3 points ago +3 / -0

Haha, I forgot

Option 4) dementia. I never had a pickup to begin with

2
PatrickProtest 2 points ago +2 / -0

Unless a bunch of non wall streeters were the reason the price went up. Then you just cry foul because your millions should be insured against the negative risks.

If this works, can we start suing the blackjack dealer because the machine spat out a bust?

I shouldn't have to have the same risk to gain ratio as them, I have more money!

PatrickProtest 2 points ago +2 / -0

I feel like if there was truly no hope and nothing anyone could do, would it be necessary to point it out?
