The government throws grant money at University labs to conduct research which appears to be the case being claimed for this. The university lab developed it then likely sold the patent for a lot of money. The middle man makes it hard for the government to get any control.

That said I'm pretty sure the whole point of the complaint is that our government is routinely funding expensive research and other people are profitting. It is something that should be fixed.

I did the same when I broke my arm and they couldn't tell me or at the subsequent doctor and physical therapist visits. Then I got bills for months because I didn't pay XYZ fee.

He shut it down for new ones specifically. Existing visas are still active/allowed.

They definitely can't have Trump going into the election running ads saying he was the first president in almost 4 decades that didn't start a new conflict.

Hmmm you would think that with Transgendered people being less than 1% of the population this would be less common among major celebrities who are .0001% of the population as it.

That's insane. I understand canceling fireworks. Tax revenue will be way down this year and a lot of people won't come out anyway. Canceling a boat parade that should be mostly free is idiotic.

It probably played some role but when news stories give these numbers they are usually adding the value of multiple offers from multiple schools so she probably isn't getting anywhere near half a million once she chooses a school and eliminates the other scholarships

An article about a study not linking to a study isn't "suppressed". They are clearly talking about it. They are either lazy or know they are purposely misreading the results for a headline.

The Banana thing is definitely a repetitive issue for black players. I don't even know what particular player you think it is centered around because if you search YouTube videos of it you can see it happening to several players. It is definitely a racially charged thing and they barely care.

It's 75% men actually. I needed to fact check this because we have two women in my company on VISA and I could not figure out how they could be that rare.

They also network like crazy sharing salary details and the like with each other before interviews so they can negotiate effectively. I actually appreciate that as clever and wish Americans did better at that stuff but man Indians are super shrewd.

Accountability for our leaders is something that really needs to be driven home by policy changes and laws. The whole George Floyd killing that drove the new BLM spike is an excellent example of this.

Atlanta police had over 200 records of police kneeling on necks and 40+ cases where someone passed out from it. 3 police officers stood around and watched the 4th do this like it was perfectly routine. When a department has a clear record of harm from a high risk technique and leaders do nothing to fix it (especially when use of force guidelines recommend against said technique) then the leaders should be held culpable. Charge the police chief or mayor with manslaughter in cases of neglect and suddenly you will see surges of reforms and reviews of practices.

If Governor's are going against guidelines and can't defend their policy decisions then charge them. I'm not saying that they should never be able to buck federal rules or that people should go to jail because they had a bad idea, I'm saying that if your bad idea kills someone you need to be able to show clear reasoning to a Jury that it wasn't a predictable outcome.

Don't like it? Don't run for office.

One of the weirdest things about the US being lambasted as racist is that the precious EU that is set as a shining star by leftists is typically far more racist than the US. As in blatant public displays of racism at sporting events including racist signs and throwing Bananas at black players. If you threw bananas at a black Football player in the super racist south the crowd would have your head.

The NYC cases likely came from EU travellers. China has more traffic to the west coast since it is closer. The EU, mostly Italy, got hit by China and then brought it into NYC.

Cuomo claims it is the FEDs fault for not informing him that the Virus might come from somewhere besides China despite it being in the US for roughly 40 days before it hit NYC

Eh it isn't really clear from the descriptions and info at this time what is going on with that. It is supposed to be a dystopian future and the transgender character right now is a poster for an in game advertisement (fake products for a fictional corporation). The trans community did not like the poster and Cdprojekt pretty much said "it is supposed to offensive"

They also mentioned they are looking to include character creation options for transgendered people.

So far it looks to be minor stuff. Who knows.

So... What journalist's has Trump attempted to arrest/prosecute/fine exactly? He has had 4 years and it appears all he has done is used his own first amendment rights to attack their integrity and profit margins...?

Where in the financial audit document does it indicate that at all? Black Lives Matter has dollars tied to it in the document but I don't see a single association between the "fiscal project" and BLM.

A political activities organization having money focused on salaries and consulting isn't really a big deal. You may very well find that having focused staff and inviting volunteers were possible is most effective for your cause. The travel and meals part being a third of salaries is where things look awful. Can't imagine spending a third of my salary on travel and meals for work related purposes and arguing it was value added.

Also I'm taking it on good faith that the other columns don't relate to BLM and that this represents all of BLMs budget without reading anything in the links because I'm lazy.

Edit: I opened the link and the image is fake news. The column isn't directly tied to BLM at all. Why are we making things up when there are enough real things to worry about?

Well I hate Twitters format and believe that it naturally stifles discussion so... No interest
